Model ; Overland flow ; Rill wash;Runoff ; Sediment transport ; Soil erosion
Literature suggests that the Shields criterion is not well suited to predicting the inception of sediment transport in overland flow. A new approach to transport inception in overland flow is proposed, which avoids measurement difficulties
Quantity discounted transportation rates, location, and the theory of production

A note on transportation rates and location of the firm in a two-dimension, n-input space
The AA. explicitly consider quantity shipped as a key variable in the transportation rate function and examine the theoretical implication of this variable on the location decision of the firm.
Transport for Romania's Carpathian forests : improved accessibility through technological change

The opening up of the Romanian forests has involved a number of different transport systems. Technology has been advanced and the problem of inacessible forests has gradually been solved. Many communities were able to expand through the development
This paper studies spatial variation of passenger traffic in relation to six factors of population aspect, migration, urbanization, density of transport network, economic environment and socio-political environment.

Generation, transport and deposition of suspended and dissolved material. Examples from Swedish rivers
Action anthropique ; Bassin-versant ; Charge en suspension ; Erosion des sols ; Géographie physique ; Hydrologie ; Suède ; Transport sédimentaire
The aim of this paper is to give examples of erosion studies made in Sweden on different scales in order to bring into focus the role of sediment transport in Swedish rivers and to form a background for future studies of pollution. Two main sources
of data have been used in the analyses : 1) a study in small plots and basins in the Verkaa research basin, about 35 km north of Stockholm, and 2) the nationwide network for the measurement of transport of sediment and dissolved material.
Differential bedload transport rates in a gravel-bed stream : a grain-size distribution approach
Capacité de charge ; Cours d'eau ; Etats-Unis ; Granulométrie ; Géographie physique ; Hydrodynamique ; Oak Creek ; Oregon
The objective of this paper is to investigate whether the systematic variations of bedload grain-size distributions observed in Oak Creek can serve as the basis for calculations of transport rates of different size fractions. The approach will rely
on the Rosin distribution and how its parameter depend on the flow discharge and bed stress. The total transport rate, which is also a function of the discharge or stress, is then apportioned within the distribution of grain sizes of the Rosin distribution
to yield frequency curves for the differential transport rates of the spectrum of grain sizes.

Multicriteria evaluation approaches to urban transportation projects
