Path dependence analysis interprets the present status and condition of a researched structure as a result of a solution chosen at a certain point in time, which is then enhanced, reproduced or transformed in a stochastic manner. It refers

Values of the gradient of the former ice surface can be inferred at points along a flow line from deviations of esker paths or transitions in esker type and numerically integrated to give the profile. The method is applied to the Katahdin esker
The role of perception in urban in-migration: a path analytic model

This paper reviews watershed-scale modeling strategies and presents the results of rainfall simulation experiments conducted on paired path and non-paths sites in highland Ecuador and East Tennessee. The results show rural roads and footpaths
to be the most active runoff-generating components of inhabited mountain landscapes and provide preliminary quantitative and qualitative bases for incorporating the runoff and erosion-initiating effects of rural roads and paths in watershed models.

Terrain control on the spatial distribution of landslides paths is the focus of this paper. Specifically, four terrain variables: elevation, slope aspect, gradient and form will be studied. The objectives of this research are to : a) examine
the topographic characteristics of landslide paths; b) identify terrain variables significant to the spatial distribution of landslide paths; and c) ascertain the topographic settings conducive to landsliding at a local scale so that the spatial variation
in rainfall intensity and geology can be approximated as contant. These objectives are to be achieved with the assistance of a DEM (Digital Elevation Model).
