The paper informs about the project of regional amelioration of the observationnetworks in Slovakia. The results of inquiry various organisations are evaluated and the interpolation errors of selected meteorological elements with territorial
that could measure up to 140 mm of rain. The large number of sites precludes random observer bias as a factor. This analysis illustrates that climatologists can safely utilize volunteers observers for research.

of earlier studies, the paper measures effects of regional networks by observing specific performance characteristics, immediately depending onto the networking activity. The empirical results show that networks offer synergies. - (IFL)
Based on a representative study, the paper focuses on how frequent regional networking occurs, which firms cooperate in networks more often than others, and which benefits come with regional networks for participating firms. Extending the approach
Discussion à propos de l'utilisation du coefficient de variabilité dans l'étude de l'adéquation du réseau d'observation pour l'étude des radiations solaires.
The author maps groundwater quality in the Netherlands, using available measurements from the national and provincial monitoring networks. The study shows the effects of monitoring network density and gives possibilities to improve groundwater

Malgré le développement de l'exploitation des satellites météorologiques et océanographiques, les bouées météorologiques (ancrées ou dérivantes) représentent toujours une composante importante du système mondial d'observation. - (JPB)

A stationary measuring network for atmospheric gravity waves in the lower atmosphere is described. It is located at Juliusruh (Rügen/GDR) and consists of three sensor stations with data telemetry and primery data processing by microprocessor
The AA. investigate the connection between surface elevation and the growth and scaling of river networks. Three planar models (Scheidegger, Eden, and invasion percolation) are first considered. The AA. show that none of these planar growth models
produces scaling results consistent with observations for natural river basins. The AA. then modify the models to include elevation, simulating the effects of fluvial erosion by enforcing the slope-area relationship. The AA. conclude that inclusion
of the vertical dimension in these three models is critical for explaining the formation and regularities of fluvial networks.

This paper demonstrates the effect of uncertainty in spatial estimates of rainfall on predictions of runoff volume, peak runoff and sediment yield. In particular, the effect of raingauge network density, spatial arrangement of individual raingauges
within the catchment, and spatio-temporal characteristics of rainfall events on model predictions is examined. This is achieved by applying a distributed runoff-erosion model to a 6.73 km2 catchment with a dense recording raingauge network in an area
