earthquakes also have the potential to leave a record in the rock, chiefly in the form of mineral precipitates. A new branch of neotectonics is proposed: neohydrotectonics concerned with the fossil record of hydrogeological changes that have accompanied
Neotectonics and active faulting
Cenozoic ; Drainage network ; Fault ; Neotectonics ; Poland ; Structural geomorphology ; Sudety
The Sudetes Montains are characterised by a residual tectonic topography, the typical landform being mature fault-generated range fronts originated during the Late Tertiary. The general pattern of neotectonic movement in this area can be inferred
from analysis of drainage systems and the distribution of erosion surfaces. The aim of this paper is to outline the usefulness of some landforms in neotectonic reconstructions in tectonically less active areas.

This paper discusses the morphological and geological evidence for Pleistocene neotectonic faulting and uplift in the northeastern part of the Sowie Mountains where the Sudetic Marginal Fault has its maximum deplacement and uplift rates. Although

Carbonate rock ; Fault ; Hydrogeology ; Neotectonics ; Seismicity ; Travertine ; Turkey
The purpose of this paper is to describe and interpret neotectonic structures in the famous travertines at Pamukkale. Three morphological varieties of travertine mass are of structural significance: 1) range-front travertines cementing alluvial -fan
