The paleoclimatological and geological evolution of the northern Negev desert in the late Pleistocene is analysed on the basis of data obtained on present-day geomorphic processes in arid rocky and sandy areas. The study is relevant to the problem
of the impact of climatic change in semi-arid and arid areas. The study focuses on the case of a change from drier to wetter conditions, a transition which was accompanied by loess penetration into the northern Negev desert.
In the present study, rainfall conditions in the Negev Desert of southern Israel during the middle Holocene are inferred from reconstruction of the past geographic distribution of C4 plants, based on isotopic analysis of organic matter in the shells
Climatic and non-climatic controls of aridity : the case of the northern Negev of Israel in Arid and semi-arid environments. Geomorphological and pedological aspects.
A research project presently being carried out in the northern Negev is described, and tentative models are offered as a means of correlating and arid/semiarid ecosystem to climatic and non-climatic environmental controls.
A case for local architecture in an arid zone: the Negev desert in Israël in New trends in urban planning. Studies in housing, urban design and planning.

The aims of this work are to characterize the morphostratigraphy of pediments in Makhtesh Ramon, Negev Desert; define the relations (synchronous or asynchronous) between fluvial terraces and pediment terrace staircases as a means of correlating time

The phenology and pollination biology of the desert plant Moricandia nitens with long-tubed flowers was studied in Advat, Central Negev. Reproduction of M. nitens, being a self-incompatible and obligate outcrosser, is dependent on insects which

The research is located in the Nizzana research station at the Hallamish dune field, western Negev Desert, and took place during 1990-1995. The aim was to evaluate the role of microrelief in runoff generation over the crusted dune surfaces.

climate of the Negev Desert of Israel. Daily event based model runs were used instead of yearly model runs, and the infiltration module was modified to better represent the spatial diversity in water availability in an arid catchment. The model
is calibrated for 2 small catchments in the Negev Desert, Halluqim and Avdat. The modelled infiltration patterns are compared with vegetation cover in the catchments and the results are discussed.

Gully incision has been eroding the alluvial sediments and loess soils deposited and developed along the valleys in the arid and semiarid regions of Israel. This phenomenon is critical in the arid regions of the Negev Highlands where
and 2001 in 3 representative drainage basins (Zipporim, Revivim and Sekher). These processes have been active for the last few millennia. If they continue in the future, the Negev Highlands region will lose its agricultural potential.
-dated Holocene samples of the land snail Trochoidea seetzeni from the northern Negev Desert in southern Israel are carried out and the results are compared to modern snails from the same region.
