cluster analysis based on selected mortality indicators. - (EN)
Demographic analysis ; Demography ; Model ; Mortality ; Simulation
A simple model is used to construct analytic expressions for the covariance of cohort mortality rates at different ages under a number of alternative assumptions about the stochastic process generating shocks in mortality.

tables by districts based on the mortality from the average of the years 1980/1981. The comparisons show that a high or low mortality in particular areas has, as a rule, a long-term character of occurrence. (MS).

Is your commute killing you? On the mortality risks of long-distance commuting
Form of transport ; Journey to work ; Mortality ; Risk ; Social geography ; Sweden ; Time-distance ; Transport ; Woman
This article examines the mortality risks of long-distance commuting in Sweden. The results indicate that women who have experienced long-distance commuting face a significantly higher mortality risk compared with women with short commutes to work
. A very different picture emerges for men, for whom mortality risks do not seem to be associated with long-distance commuting. Our findings suggest that men and women are subject to different mechanisms regarding the nexus between commuting and mortality.
