This article utilizes dendrogeomorphology to investigate the spatial and temporal variation of mass movement dynamics on south-eastfacing slopes of the Krušné Hory Mountains, an area affected by open-pit mining. It is based on 93 samples collected
from 35 disturbed Fagus sylvatica trees. These samples were taken in five model locations, representing the most problematic sections of the entire area. For reasons of sample depth, the analysis was limited to the period from 1900 to 2006. The article

PnET-CN model describes the biogeochemical cycles of carbon (C) and nitrogen (N) and can assist in estimating carbon sequestration potential. For validation of PnET-CN, data from coniferous forest plantations in southern China was used. The results
obtained from the validation test revealed that PnET-CN model can be used to simulate carbon sequestration of planted coniferous forests in southern China to a high level of precision. Sensitivity analysis suggests that great care should be taken
in developing generalizations as to how forests will respond to a changing climate. Future improvement of PnET-CN should focus on seasonal foliar N dynamics and the effects of water stress on autotrophic respirations in subtropical coniferous plantations

Starting with the selection of a suitable transport equation from 4 possible sediment transport equations, the effects of a single vegetation element on wind speed were parameterized. The model was tested with field data on wind speed and sediment
transport measured around isolated shrubs in a farmer's field in the north of Burkina Faso. The simple empirical equation of Radok performed best in modelling soil erosion and sediment transport, both for the entire event duration and for each minute within
an event. The variability in wind direction created a ‘rotating’ area of influence around the shrub. Compared to field measurements the model predicted an 8% larger reduction in sediment transport in the lee of the vegetation element, and a 22% larger

In this study, the model of Besio et al. (2006) is used to generate a database that allows a parameterization of the length of tidal dunes to be obtained. The predictions are then analysed and a formula is proposed to estimate the wavelength

by the dispersal of pelagic larvae. Models of marine population dynamics must account for larval connectivity. To allow more informed decision making when complete information on dispersal is lacking, the AA. have developed a method based on geographic information
received limited attention. To enable a better understanding of platform dynamics in a particular area, fieldwork, laboratory simulation and numerical modelling should be carried out simultaneously. Shore platforms are a global feature, and their study

The effects of floodplain vegetation on river planform have been investigated for a medium-sized river using a 2D morphodynamic model with submodels for flow resistance and plant colonization. The flow resistance was divided into a resistance
exerted by the soil and a resistance exerted by the plants. Bank erosion was related to bed degradation at adjacent wet cells. Bank advance and retreat were reproduced as drying and wetting of the computational cells at the channel margins. The model
