Long years variations in the month precipitations in the non-mountainous parts of Bulgaria
An attempt is made to study the peculiarities in the structure of the long years variations in the month precipitation by the autocorrelation and filtration methods. The connection with typified baric circulation characteristics is evaluated
Regional analysis of bedrock stream long profiles : evaluation of Hack's SL form, and formulation and assessment of an alternative (the DS form)
The Hack SL form of the long profile, which describes a straight line on a log-normal plot of elevation (normal) versus distance (logarithmic), is the equilibrium long profile form that has been most widely used in such studies. The AA. show
that the SL form is a special case of a more general form of the equilibrium long profile (here called the DS form) that can be derived from the power relationship between stream discharge and downstream distance, and the dependence of stream incision
on stream power. The DS form provides a better fit than the SL form to river long profiles in an intraplate setting in southeastern Australia experiencing low rate of denudation and mild surface uplift.
Sedimentary environmental analysis of Long Island Sound, USA, with multivariate statistics

Long-term study of the natural environment. Perceptive science or mindless monitoring?
It is the purpose of this article to consider what constitutes good monitoring and why long-term monitoring is such an important and indispensable task. A description of the Environmental Change Network (ECN) provides a useful foundation
Correlation between long-term pedogenic CaCo3 formation rate and modern precipitation in deserts of the American Southwest
The objectives of this study are (1) to examine the correlation between the long term rate of pedogenic CaCo3 formation (LTR) and modern mean annual precipitation (MAP) and temperature (MAT) in the desert Southwest, and (2) to consider the utility
Long-term land-use changes in Czechia as a flood risk influencing factor
The aim of the article is to assess the nature of long-term changes in intensity, nature and spatial structure of land-use in Czechia with respect to their significance for the runoff process, and especially during the occurrence and progress

A policy analysis of Brazil's Agriculture: is the long term strategy jeopardized at last?
From a development viewpoint this paper seeks to present the main long-term characteristics of the current strategy for agricultural development in Brazil. It provides an evaluation of effects of previous policies and programmes as well as scope
Bursts of aftershocks, long-term precursors of strong earthquakes
Earthquakes that are followed within a short time by abnormally large numbers of aftershocks are hypothesised to be long-term precursors of strongers earthquakes. In a test of the hypothesis, 18 out of 23 strong earthquakes, in five regions
