The analysis of Keszthely’s tourism at the turn of the 19th and 20th century could be very interesting for the research, because Keszthely was in a disadvantaged position in the Hungarian touristic competition at this time. The study highlights
on the one hand the characteristics of Keszthely’s tourism at the beginning of the 20th century, on the other hand the impacts of the civil organizations boosting the tourism of the city. - (AM)
Keszthely was a popular bathing resort already at the end of the 19th century. It offered not only the tourist services also found elsewhere, or the possibilities of the beautiful, varied landscape but also a rich cultural heritage with plenty
of attractions for visitors. Therefore, it is not surprising that campsites were established also in Keszthely during the creation of the camp network around Lake Balaton. - (AM)
Multi-phase geomorphological evolution of the Keszthely Mountains (SW-Transdanubia) and karstic recharge of the Hévíz lake
AA. provide an overview of the geomorphic evolution from tropical peneplanation in the Cretaceous and of the stages of karstification beginning with the Oligocene. The main goal of investigation was to understand the role of the Keszthely Mountains
in the Miocene are also discussed. The age of the hydrothermal activity in the Keszthely Mountains is still debated.
On the 75th anniversary of his death a commemorative session was held in Keszthely, his native town the surroundings of which were investigated in his first scientific studies. (DLO).
