The article is a review of international geographical journals primarily of socio-economic subject matter, in terms of the thematic structure of published articles and the affiliations of their authors. The position of geographical journals among
international scientific journals in general is also assessed, while detailed analyses focus on the six titles with the highest impact factors on the ISI Master Journal List, where journals of the socio-economic geography subject area are concerned
. International geographical magazines are dominated by Anglo-American geography, with a large number of article authors and members of editorial boards of journals affiliating American and British institutions. In general, the regional subject area of articles
