Extreme temperature days for the period from 1947 to 1998 in HongKong were investigated, to examine the variability of the extreme days, and to relate extreme days to synoptic influences. Significant decreasing trends of both warm and cold days
were discovered. Results of this study create a climatology of extreme temperature days in HongKong.
