Vulnerability is a concept mobilized for understanding the emergence of situations of risk regardless of their nature. The use of vulnerability for the knowledge of conditions for the emergence risk of vector-borne diseases (VBD) opens a way
for systemic and multidisciplinary analysis of risk that exceeds the knowledge of traditional social criteria such as age, gender, social class or level of income taken into account in epidemiological studies. If since the beginning of the nineteenth century
, the anglo-aaxon work on the risks of VBD take into account the vulnerability assessment, however the France lags behind the Haut Conseil de la santé publique wishes to catch up. The study of territorial vulnerability of French Guiana to VBD opens new

Analyzing high-risk emergency areas with GIS and neural networks : the case of Athens, Greece
Athens ; Estimation ; Geographical information system ; Greece ; Health ; Location ; Neural network ; Risk ; Spatial analysis
This article combines geographic information systems (GIS) and neural networks for performing health emergency assessments and generating hazard maps that show areas that are potentially at high risk for emergencies. As a result, emergency services
will know in advance where there is a high possibility of an emergency event occurring and can formulate a response, thus improving incident management and health planning. For example, the service can locate ambulances in places near the expected emergency

This paper examines the area-level association between brownfield land and morbidity and mortality in England. It shows that people living in wards with a high proportion of brownfield land are significantly more likely to suffer from poorer health
than those living in wards with a small proportion of brownfield land. This suggests that brownfield land could potentially be an important and previously overlooked independent environmental determinant of population health in England. The remediation
and redevelopment of brownfield land should therefore be considered as a public health policy issue.

symptoms. Healthy stands are only found on soils sufficiently rich in exchangeable Mg (and K) and less acid or in areas with supposed rather low air pollution. Threshold values for healthrisks are based on exchangeable Mg contents. Interactions with other
Forest decline in Southern Belgium and in Luxembourg is unevenly distributed. Mapped soil/lithological characteristics could not explain health patterns of the stands. Soil and foliar analyses provided valuable data related with forest decline
