Outline of some of the more important recent developments in the modelling of large-scale tectonic processes and their implications for landform development.
In this review, the A. examines the important developments in tectonic geomorphology at a wide range of spatial and temporal scales and the growing interest of geologists in geomorphology in general, and tectonic geomorphology in particular
Arc insulaire ; Géographie de l'Asie ; Indonésie ; Tectonique de plaques ; Tectonique globale ; Zone de collision
This paper presents the results of geophysical, geological and geochemical studies of the eastern Indonesian region and their preliminary interpretations as regards tectonic development in an arc-continent collision zone.
Accretion tectonics in the circum-Pacific regions.
Arc insulaire ; Congrès ; Géographie physique ; Géophysique ; Japon ; Paléomagnétisme ; Tectonique de collision ; Tectonique globale
Findings from recent studies in accretion-collision phenomena in the circum-Pacific mobile belts presented at the first international conference on accretion - collision tectonics (21 papers).
Erdol-Erdgas-Geologie und Plattentektonik. (Oil and gas geology and plate tectonic)
Europe ; Gaz naturel ; Géographie physique ; Hydrocarbure ; Mésozoïque ; Tectonique globale
Several processes of oil and gas geology are studied in connection with plate-tectonical processes. Thus it becomes clear, that there is a distinct difference between the Paleozoic development of the Europian plate and the Mesozoic development. (HL).

The theme of this article is that episodic alluviation creates approximate time lines that are useful in analyses of tectonically deforming landscapes of the Mojave Desert of California. The scope includes a process-response model for fluvial
systems sensitive to major climate changes, evaluation of tectonic landforms of the Emerson fault part of the 1992 surface rupture, influences of late Quaternary faulting on local erosion and deposition. This study increased student awareness
of the relevance of tectonic geomorphology to societal problems such as earthquakes.
The comparison from soil samples of tectonically active and stable areas with examples from Central- and South America

Results show the significant difference in soil texture, pH-value and heavy minerals between the tectonically stable part of South America and the tectonically active part of Central America, which cannot merely the interpreted as the effect
of source rock. The results relate to differences of weathering in tectonically active and stable parts of the tropics, particularly to certain aspects of the morphology of quartz grains.
Bathymetry shows the regional interaction of aseismic, buoyant highs in northern Pacific subduction zones. Seamonts, ridges, and fractures on the seaward side of the trench are associated with events that do not support the accepted plate-tectonics
paradigm, including an altered slab dip angle (Benioff zone) and the clustered volcanoes and earthquakes within the convergent margin. That data will then be used to formulate a new theory, into the realm of the surge-tectonic hypothesis, that encompasses
Tectonic features have generally been explained by plate tectonics, with collision and subduction, but newer hypotheses are now available, including exotic terranes. Here the AA. discuss some of the tectonic and morphotectonic features of Papua New
