Les glaciers du Mont Kenya sont l'objet d'un programme d'observation à long terme motivé par les problèmes d'interaction climat-cryosphère et les variations climatiques. - (D. Rouvière).

The purpose of this study is to determine the water equivalent lost and the water equivalent remaining in storage for Dinwoody Glacier in the Wind River Range. Parallax measurements on matching aerial photograph stereopairs from 1958 and 1983 were
used to calculate the ice lost from Dinwoody Glacier.

Results of electrical resistivity surveys performed on ten rock glaciers in the southern Alps, in the summer of 1986. The conclusion that these rock glaciers are essentially inherited forms, testifying the passage of recent cold periods
, is confirmed by the discovery on three sites of rock glaciers with a heterogeneous structure, a thawed central part and an accumulation of ice at the snout. It suggests that the rock glaciers in the southern Alps were formed, for the most part, during

In this paper the AA. report recent discoveries of wood from several glacier forefields in the Canadian Rockies that provide conclusive evidence of the timing and extent of a mid-Neoglacial glacier advance that was less extensive than
The AA. report thermal and geo-electrical investigations on 5 rock glaciers located on the Italian side of the Argentera Massif. The aims of the study are to analyse permafrost occurrence and characteristics, and to define the lower elevation limit
for permafrost existence (Lower Permafrost Boundary, LPB) and rock glacier activity. The results are compared to previous studies in mountain areas north of the Argentera, in order to develop a general framework for permafrost existence in the southwestern Alps.
The objective of the research is to study the evolution of the surge of the Grande del Nevado Glacier through time-lapse analysis of Landsat images between 1976 and 1986.
Glaziäre Entwässerung und Sanderbildung am Kotlujokull, Südisland. (Glacier drainage and sandar genesis at the Kotlujokull, South Iceland)
Research of some years at the 8 km long south-eastern glacier margin of Kotlujokull in South Iceland concerned the correlation of the manner of glacier drainage with the genesis of sandar, examplified by the recent evolution of a glacier foreland

Reliability of a fjord glacier's fluctuations for paleoclimatic reconstructions

Historical observations of fjord glaciers in southern Alaska suggest that their fluctuations may be asynchronous with one another and with climate. Possible causes for anomalous fjord glacier response to climatic changes involve the instabilities
inherent in a calving terminus, the interaction of fjord geometry with the extent of the calving terminus, and the intersection of low-lying snow line by a thickening glacier. The Lituya glacier system in southeast Alaska is analyzed with reference

The AA. estimate the spatial changes in the Jaundhar, Jhajju and Tilku glaciers in the Tons River basin (Garhwal Himalaya) between 1962 and 2010 using Landsat Satellite data, topographic maps along with field surveys. They estimate the overall
shrinking in the area of the glaciers. However, frontal retreat rates are not uniform in all glaciers even under the same climatic domain. Study on the fragmented glaciers shows a continuous and unusual retreat of glaciers after 1990. This uncertainty may
possibly be due to size, surface morphology and gradient of the individual glaciers and can be attributed to degeneration and rapid melting on the glaciers. Meteorological data available from this region show increasing summer temperature and less winter
precipitation in last few decades. Further more studies on these glaciers will shed light on several factors influencing changes and retreat on the Himalayan glacier systems.

The paper analyses and discusses the recent evolution of a representative glacierized group within the Italian Alps, the Piazzi—Dosdè, where small glaciers are experiencing considerable retreat and shrinking. The AA. analysed aerial photos

in the past the shaping and driving factors were glaciers are now subject to the action of melting water, slope evolution and periglacial processes.
