Development of gullies under forest cover in the Taunus and crystalline Odenwald mountains, Germany

The study was concerned with conditions, under which Holocene gully systems could develop, which are nowadays under forest cover. The AA. study the impact of landuse or changes of the landuse on the development of these forms.
The investigations on the Holocene river activities and slope dynamics in the Black Forest and Upper Rhine Lowlands were carried out with geomorphological mehods. They include the analysis of sediments, the radiocarbon dating of organic material
