Impact of external forces on soil structure in Impact of water and external forces on soil structure. Selected papers of the 1st Workshop on soilphysics and soilmechanics, Hannover 1986.
Several external forces, acting on the structure of soils, including raindrop impact, are briefly discussed. Two external forces are discussed in detail. The first one is a temporary external loading force, caused by the weight of tractors
. The second one is the force of a penetrating object and its reaction to soil structure. This discussion is focussed on a very fine object, which may imitate a growing root.

Pacific sea surface temperature forcing dominates orbital forcing of the Early Holocene monsoon
In this study, a comparison is made between orbital forcing and Pacific sea surface temperature (SST) forcing of the monsoon through a sequence of atmospheric general circulation model experiments configured for 6,000 and 9,000 yr B.P. The results
Women's participation in the labor force in Japan : trends and regional patterns
