Sustainable development means principally the search for and the maintaining of equilibrium between material welfare, social security and healthy environment. Natural ecosystems have proved throughout the evolution that inherent to them
are regulators of their functioning that maintain their dynamic balance and, resultantly, ensure their survival even in the case of changes. The paper presents some of these ecosystem balancing mechanisms, which can also serve as examples to human activity
in ecosystem ; in natural as well as in anthropogenic environment. The damages in soils are irreversible, that is why the permanent attitude is necessary. - (IKR)
