The discussion concerns the Draft Expert Concept for a Polish Spatial Organization Policy, as prepared by a team of experts under the supervision of Prof. Piotr Korcelli. Discussion is necessitated by the controversial nature of the solutions
the Concept proposes, in terms of the methods adopted for spatial policy implementation, as well as the suggested shape of spatial structure. In the first place, the principle of economic rationality does not differ in its basic assumption from the principle
of effectiveness present in the Concept currently in force, thus copying solutions proposed previously. In the second place, the implementation of spatial policy in keeping with the said priority will undoubtedly serve only to preserve or even strengthen
the current disparities vis-à-vis the country’s spatial structure, which is in contradiction with some of the strategic goals, and even with the primary goal of spatial policy which is territorial cohesion. – (BJ)
