The aim of the paper is to summarise international and Hungarian findings on climatechange and to point to areas of uncertainty in climate research. The author gives an overview of climatechanges in the Holocene as global changes without
the presence of humans in order to find the answer to one of the fundamental question: does climatechange natural or anthropogenic causes ? - (AM)
the implications of climatic and global system unpredictability for regional climate prediction. Consequently the AA. regard regional climate prediction as a cascade of uncertainty. They understand regional climatechange in terms of changes in the general
Regional climate prediction is not an insoluble problem, but it is a problem characterized by inherent uncertainty. There are 2 sources of this uncertainty : the unpredictability of the climatic and global systems. So this review considers

This new approach allows both moisture and thermal conditions to be examined simultaneously for a better assessment of multivariate climatechange. Changes in area of different climate types over time is determined using the climate year approach
and the spatial nature of climatechange is examined by computing climate types based on averages from three thirty-year periods over the twentieth century. Over the study period from 1895 to 2005, statistically significant changes in areal coverage of different
climate types have occurred : changes to moister climate categories and positive temperature trends.

This paper investigates the likely changes in the thermal climate of the Pennine region that would be associated with different climatechange scenarios. Estimates of future temperature change are converted into attendant changes in climatic

This article summarizes the theory of climatechange and the relationship of climate-change forcing to hydrologic and aquifer processes. It focuses on regional aquifer systems and on the methods to link large-scale climate-change processes to ground
-water recharge and to simulate ground-water flow and solute transport in a warmer, 2xCO2 climate. In addition, it outlines the development of a methodology to quantify the effects of climatechange and of changes in ground-water use by population growth
Cet article se propose d'explorer les relations entre changement climatique, équité et sécurité de l'espèce humaine. La question de l'équité ne doit pas simplement être envisagée à travers le filtre des relations Nord-Sud.
The multi-annual variability of thermal, solar and cloudiness conditions in Cracow was examined from the point of view of the impact of natural and anthropogenic factors on the climatechange. The analysis concerned the annual air temperature range
(RAT) and daily ranges of air temperature (DAT) in january and july. Special attention has been paid to the climatic trends and changes of climatic continuity. Long-term changes of RAT reflect the impact of the circulation factors, these of DAT
The atmosphere exchanges heat, moisture and momentum with other climate subsystems. This paper describes some applications of climate models in agriculture and puts forward the argument, that recent climate models are very close to numerical weather
prediction models. The physical parameterization approach implemented first in climate models, is now applied in a useful way to everyday agricultural management.

Le changement global aura inévitablement des répercussions sur le climat local, ce qui pose bien des questions, ne serait-ce que pour améliorer l'adaptation. Mais aucun modèle n'apporte encore de solution satisfaisante aux échelles fines. - (JPB)

This paper presents an assessment of indicators of climatechange in Ireland over the past century. Trends are examined in order to determine the magnitude and direction of ongoing climatechange. Although detection of a trend is difficult due
to the influence of the North Atlantic Ocean, it is concluded that Irish climate is following similar trajectories to those predicted by global climate models. Climatic variables investigated included the key temperature and precipitation data series from the Irish
synoptic station network. Secondary climate indicators such as frequency of hot and cold days were found to reveal more variable trends.

This article shows that there are many instances of abrupt climatechange in the past, especially during the last ice age, but there is much less evidence of even rapid climatechange occurring during the last 10,000 years or so in the period known
as the Holocene. There are also many unknowns about abrupt climate shifts in the future when the world will be much warmer than today. One favourite climate scenario suggests that cooling by a shut-down of the Gulf Stream at the end of the present century is more
than likely to be balanced by global warming. In the final analysis, we cannot be certain about our future climate.

Two appraisals of the consequences of climatechange for Polish agriculture consider 4 possible scenarios based on GISS and GFDL models. The National Study of ClimateChange considers that changes will affect about 60% of the country
and that their consequences will be relatively great due to changes of the water balance in soils. Possible impacts of global climatechange on the occurrence distribution and economic significance of the pests, pathogens and weeds on various continents and in Poland

General Circulation Models (GCMs) are now the tools most widely applied in the generation of scenarios for climaticchange on the global scale. One of the methods by which to move down from the global to regional scales is application of the LARS-WG
weather model, a stochastic weather generator simulating daily values for elements of the climate. An attempt to verify the model was made on the basis of data for the Zamość weather station. Discussion of the results.
This review of the recent scientific literature on climatechange focuses on one aspect of the issue which has come to the fore over the last three years, the role of atmospheric aerosols in contemporary cimate change. The emergence
of these particulates as a significant modifier of the atmospheric and climatic environment has, at the same time, offered new opportunities for detecting human-induced climatechange in the observed record and also complicated the prediction of future climatechange
