Analysis of clay minerals in Hungarian loesses on the basis of the clay mineral map of soils in Hungary in Loess and the Quaternary: Chinese and Hungarian case studies.
The clay mineral map of soils presented data to analyze the regional composition of loesses. The amount of chlorite increases in the Alpine region, while the ration of smectites grows in the vicinity of andesitic mountains and in the margins

Three Harney pedons were studied with different precipitation regimes in Kansas. The aim was to : examine the morphological, chemical, physical and mineralogical characteristics of Harney soils formed in loess; determine the clay mineral
distribution with depth and the origin of the clay minerals present; and investigate the relationship between the clay mineralogy and other soil properties such as soil plasmic fabric, COLE values and total clay/fine clay ratios.

The Neogene red clays of the Carpathian basin in Problems of the Neogene and Quaternary in the Carpathian Basin.
Opinions differ as to whether the true red clays mostly deposited on Upper Pannonian lacustrine sediments are dated as Pliocene or early Quaternary. Biostratigraphic and lithostratigraphic data show that these non-rewashed residual deposits of red
clay belong to the Gilbert or to even earlier epochs. (DLO).
