Geomorphology of the Himalaya : a climato-tectonic framework
This paper describes the plate tectonics setting, geology, topography, precipitation, erosion processes, sediment yield, and geomorphology of the Himalaya, and, using a climato-tectonic framework, discusses the north-south variation in geomorphology
Lajos Lóczy, the outstanding geologist has left behind a fairly enigmatic heritage in the field of tectonics. In this paper the main tectonic results are evaluated, always relying on the original papers and in the light of the present-day knowledge
on the tectonics of the Alpine-Himalyan belt. - (AM)

the nature of tectonic processes, and provides a better understanding of the other geomorphic units, such as the volcanic chains and the Interandean Depression.
A comparison between the Davisian scheme and landform development by concurrent tectonics and denudation
by concurrent tectonics and denudation (H. Ohmori, 1978| T. Yoshikawa, 1985). A quantitative evaluation is made of the characteristics of topographic features described by Davis from the viewpoint of landform development by concurrent tectonics and denudation.
Outline of some of the more important recent developments in the modelling of large-scale tectonic processes and their implications for landform development.
Brief review of the geomorphological consequences of evaporites : the development of diapiric structures, the production of faults and folds, tectonic uplift and associated drainage modification, the creep of salt as salt glaciers , and widespread
This paper presents the results of geophysical, geological and geochemical studies of the eastern Indonesian region and their preliminary interpretations as regards tectonic development in an arc-continent collision zone.
Accretion tectonics in the circum-Pacific regions.
Findings from recent studies in accretion-collision phenomena in the circum-Pacific mobile belts presented at the first international conference on accretion - collision tectonics (21 papers).
Erdol-Erdgas-Geologie und Plattentektonik. (Oil and gas geology and plate tectonic)
Several processes of oil and gas geology are studied in connection with plate-tectonical processes. Thus it becomes clear, that there is a distinct difference between the Paleozoic development of the Europian plate and the Mesozoic development. (HL).
) drainage anomalies. The results have been checked in the field and compared with the tectonic features in the mountainous areas. The extension of these structures could then be traced confidently further towards the flat lowlands.
Tectonics and landscape evolution in southeast Australia

A hypothesis is presented here of the landscape evolution of southeast Australia which brings together evidence of landforms, tectonics, drainage patterns and sedimentary basins to make a consistent picture. The sedimentary record of the basins
provides evidence of variation in the location and extent of erosion in the highlands, and the timing of major changes in drainage direction, caused mainly by tectonic warping. The major rivers can be traced back to Mesozoic and even Permian precursors.
Andes ; Colombia ; Drainage network ; Fault ; Latin America ; Structural geomorphology ; Tectonic thrust ; Tectonics ; Tropical zone ; Venezuela
This paper intends to present observations of geomorphic and geologic evidence in the Eastern Andan foothills of Colombia and Venezuela, where a well-developed-fold-and-thrust belt is currently growing. In this type of tectonic setting, the analysis
of drainage has proved to be a powerful tool because drainage system are highly sensitive to slow vertical tectonic processes related to subtle folding and thrust faulting.
The effect of the Late Cenozoic tectonics (neotectonics) and their associated morphotectonics on the Nile Delta basin since the Late Miocene are discussed. The Nile Delta site seems to be affected by basement-related tectonics as it is located
survey and aerial photointerpretation. Successively all the morphological elements that might provide evidence for tectonic deformations were identified. Moreover the statistical of stream directions have shown some preferential orientations indicating
