Situation and outlook of China's chemical fertilizer industry
Agricultural use ; Chemical industry ; China ; Consumption ; Fertilizer ; Industry ; Nitrogen
China has made remarkable progress in chemical fertilizer industry in the past decades. The consumption in the past 46 years was 75% produced domestically and 25% imported from abroad. High concentration fertilizers shall be developed as a major
means to raise product quality.

Coupling chemical weathering with soil production across soil-mantled landscapes
The AA. examine a granitic, soil-mantled hillslope at Point Reyes, California, where soil production rates were determined using in situ produced cosmogenic nuclides (Be 10 and Al 26), and they quantify the extent as well as the rates of chemical
weathering of the saprolite from beneath soil from across the landscape. They collected saprolite samples from the base of soil pits. The results show for the first time that chemical weathering rates decrease with increasing soil thickness. The AA. also show
that spatial variation in chemical weathering appears to be topographically controlled.
A discussion regarding weathering in the western Cape mountains, South Africa : implications for pleistocene cryoclastic debris production
Chemical alteration ; Pleistocene ; Quaternary ; South Africa ; Weathering
The extensive angular Pleistocene debris covers of the western Cape have been attributed to cryoclastic origin. However, evidence of chemical weathering and lichen growth is presented suggesting further research is necessary. - (AJC)

volumes. Overflow of water during the winter, when the water is chemically enriched, is an effective mechanism to remove weathering products.
This study describes the main hydrological processes in gnammas and the underlying chemical interactions with the environment. Four gnammas developed in a granite tor from central Spain were chosen for monitoring and studying the dynamics
