Afin d'établir et discuter des similitudes et différences morphologiques entre les bassins hydrographiques de marée et fluviaux, quelque paramètres et rapports fluviaux bien connus ont été calculés pour 3 bassins de marée de la mer des Wadden. Le
résultat pour cette étude de cas indique que les paramètres et rapports morphométriques contrôlés par les forces érosives des eaux courantes s'appliquent aux 2 types de bassin. Le bassin hydrographique fluvial fonctionne comme zone de source de sédiments
