The paper consisting of two parts wishes to point out by citing numerous examples that the transportation of goods on the rivers in the Danubian Basin due to the lack of infrastructural services, lags far behind the Main and the Rhein. Within a few
years the two drainage basins will be linked with a permanent waterway. (CK).
