Regolith surface characteristics and response were examined over a three-year period in a badland area in a Mediterranean middle-mountain zone near Vallcebre (Eastern Pyrenees). The purpose of this study is to analyse the temporal patterns
of the response to simulated rainfall for the badland surfaces at Vallcebre in terms of runoff and sediment production. The dependence of this response on certain variables (day number, antecedent moisture and bulk density) is studied.
