Biodiversity and extinction : the dynamics of geographic range size
Biodiversity ; Biogeography ; Extinction of species ; Human impact ; Model ; Population dynamics ; Spatial distribution
In this progress report, the A. selectively reviews some recent advances in understanding of the temporal dynamics of geographic ranges : models, empirical evidence, human influences.
of macrophyte growth on instream nutrient dynamics is discussed as an illustration of the potential for macrophytes to affect fluvial system functioning.
Uncertainty and dynamic linear programming models in agriculture: recent issues in theory and practice in Dynamic linear models for the study of agricultural systems.
Use of the linear quadratic approach to study the dynamic policy responses of a non linear model of the French economy
Dynamic policy responses of a model of the French economy. Advantage is taken of the linear behavior of the model around a reference trajectory. The linear approximation of the implicit state variable representation is determined by stepwise
regressions. The examination of the 10 control variables has little influence in modifying the autonomous dynamics of the model. (INRA).
A dinamikus gazdasagfoldrajz torténelmi elozményei. (Historical background of the dynamic economic geography)
The A. states that the traditional economic geography of descriptive character is not proper to represent the spatial phenomena of dynamically changing life and discovers the causal interrelations between them. (CK).
Environmental geomorphology in Hungary in Environmental and dynamic geomorphology.
The double aim of geomorphology in Hungary (its impact on the main factors of the physical environment and on land use and economy on the one hand and the effects of relief instability and dynamic disequilibria on human activity on the other
A dynamical systems approach for network oligopolies and variational inequalities

the equivalence between the set of stationary points of a dynamical system and the set of solutions to the associated variational inequality problem to explore the underlying dynamics.
Dynamics of an active rock glacier (Ötztal Alps, Austria)
Alps (The) ; Austria ; Climatic warming ; Discharge ; Glacier dynamics ; Meltwater ; Mountain ; Periglacial features ; Rock glacier ; Thermal regime ; Tirol ; Water temperature
The aim of this paper is to document the dynamics of a well-known active rock glacier in the Austrian Alps by using an integrated approach including morphological investigations as well as grain size, thermal, hydrological, and flow velocity
measurements, and to present a better understanding of the genesis and dynamics of rock glaciers.
DWEPP : a dynamic soil erosion model based on WEPP source terms
The aim of this study was to develop a dynamic version of the Water Erosion Prediction Project (WEPP) model based on kinematic wave routing of runoff and the WEPP source terms equation for erosion coded with a fully dynamic solution. Sediment yield
dynamics were plotted and compared with experimental results for plots and hillslope. Effects of cover and canopy on the predicted sediment yields were well represented by the model. DWEPP provides a new tool for assessing erosion rates and dynamics.
The A. distinguishes between implied dynamics (change is analysed through an examination of the parameter space of a static model) and absolute dynamics (time is explicitly included in the specification). This review charts the development of both
