Description :
In this paper, the AA. report on a seven-year study of the geochemistry of stream water draining an alpine catchment in the Colorado Front Range. This work has been part of an ongoing program of Long Term Ecological Research (LTER) and has three objectives : 1) estimate the seasonal variations in water quality| 2) evaluate the nature of spatial variations in the stream solute load within the basin to indicate its sources| 3) use the results to evaluate the magnitude and significance of chemical denudation in the parts of the basin which provide most of the streamflow, as well as the system as a whole.
