Description :
Detailed petrographic investigations of the Upper Cretaceous-Eocene succession exposed at Bahariya Oasis resulted in the recognition of litho- and biofacies associations, mostly of the carbonate rock type. The main diagenetic processes recorded are : cementation, aggrading neomorphism, silicification and dolomitization.
