Formation of inner gorges

Description :
This paper investigates the hypothesis that, under certain conditions, a distinctive type of landform, the inner gorge, evolves in drainage basins undergoing persistent base level lowering. This paper will therefore explore the types of interaction between hillslope and channel processes that produce inner gorges and evaluate the internal and external controls. In particular, the importance of lithologic control will be evaluated.
