Potholes - Glacial and non-glacial cavities

Auteur :
JOHNSSON, G.

Description :
It is still an open question whether preglacial cylindrical hollows resembling glacial potholes could have survived glaciations in Fennoscandia. This report is a first attempt to discuss the problem starting from a granite area in Bohuslän, south Sweden. The geomorphology of the Escorial plain, central Spain, is also discussed. On this plain there are cylindrical rock basins. Although they resemble glacial potholes, they were formed by weathering and rain erosion.
