Basal ice formation and deformation : a review

Description :
The aim of this paper is to identify some of the processes responsible for the formation of basal ice sequences and to demonstrate the links likely to exist between these processes and the characteristics of the resultant sequences. The postulated rheological consequences of these properties are also discussed in the light of several recent studies.
