Marine episodes in Hudson Strait and Hudson Bay, Canada, during the Wisconsin glaciation

Auteur :
LAYMON, C. A.

Description :
In this paper, the A. presents a radiocarbon date and results of amino acid analyses of shell fragments derived from till on Nottingham Island at the west end of Hudson Strait. These results support the idea that Hudson Strait and at least part of Hudson Bay were icefree between substage 5e and the Holocene. Some implications of this conclusions are briefly discussed in light of current ideas about the dynamics of the Laurentide Ice Sheet.
