West African paleoclimates during the last climatic cycle inferred from an Atlantic deep-sea pollen record

The main results of pollen and dinocyst analyses on the upper 6 m of core V22-196, corresponding to the last 140,000 yr, are presented with the aim of discussing reconstructions of north tropical African environments and climates during the latest climatic cycle, and comparing the results with previous paleoatmospheric circulation reconstructions inferred from the marine or terrestrial component of ocean sediments.
