Description :
The AA. consider the palaeoclimatic implications of speleothem growth frequency in the British Iles during the last 220 000 yr, and interpret the results with respect to the recognized stages and substages of the British Quaternary. The speleothem growth frequency curve presented here records nine periods of enhanced speleothem growth between 140 000 and 20 000 yr B.P. which correspond to warmer periods with increased growth of vegetation.
