The work reported constitutes the first attempt - since B. Zaborski in 1926 - at the synthetic description of morphogenesis of rural settlements in Poland. The report is composed of two parts. In the first part morphogenetic types of villages are presented, characteristic for a given historical period and region, in the chronological features of villages in setting of their patterns, using all source materials available for particular villages. In the second part, the map of morphogenetic types of villages in Poland in the first halt of 10th century is shown. - (DG)
