The following conclusions concerning the changes of teh Caspian Sea level during past 2000 years have been made on the basis of scrutinity of the previous research reports: the employment of old maps and achive data may be a reliable source of information to assess the trend of the Caspian Sea level fluctuations, but they fall to help in measuring of the absolute values at a certain time; the level of the Caspian sea has never exceeded - 25 m since AD; in near future one acn axpect the rate of ascend of the Caspian Sea level to slow down and then to stabilize on the mark of - 25 m below the ocean level. - L'A.).
