Description :
Generations of debris flow tracks were dated by lichenometry and correlated with extreme rainfalls noted in chronicles and descriptions given by travellers in the Tatra Mts. during the last 200 years. Datings show that majority of debris flows have been triggered during the final phase of the little Ice Age, i.e. 1810-1835, 1843-1852 and 1860-1880. - (DG)
