Description :
The changes of lower Vistula channel caused by human impact is discussed. The problem of XIXth century regulation works and Vistula channel daming at Włocławek is presented. The morphodynamic of the sand bars (mesoforms) on the different developed reaches of lower Vistula (unregulated, regulated, downstream from the Włocławek dam) are introduced. On the basis of literature and own studies carried out in the lower Vistula channel, the hydrology of mesoforms constructed. The bed-load balance of investigated reach of Vistula channel computed. - (DG)
