Urban land use in Tokyo in the early twentieth century : a comparison with Edo
Auteur :HONG, C.
Description :
This article aims to analyze the regional structure of Tokyo. To make the chronological change clearer, a comparison was made with the existing urban land use in the last stage of the Edo period. During the 50 years between the last stage of feudal Edo and the early twentieth century, phenomenal changes occurred in land use. Nearly all feudal land uses gave away to such modern land uses as imperial, military, manufacturing and educational. - (KA)
