Description :
The purpose of this paper is 1) to provide a summary of the characteristics of the onshore and offshore facies and their origins 2) to describe the occurrence of marine placers in the Sept-Iles area, and 3) to integrate the sedimentation models with placer genesis. The data from onshore, nearshore, and offshore sedimentary successions provide an opportunity for the integration of terrestrial and marine sedimentation models, providing a regional framework for understanding the development of marine placers.
