Aspects on the significance of climatic changes for the periglacial environment in northern Sweden

This paper discusses some of the possible influences that rapid anthropogenic climatic changes may have for the permafrost distribution and the periglacial environment in northern Scandinavia. The discussion is based upon field observations from northern Sweden (mainly the Lake Torneträsk area) but some observations from Svalbard and Greenland are included.
