Auteurs :
WHITE, B.
DAY, F.

Description :
AA. examine 10 culture regions, adapted from Zelinsky's The Cultural Geography of the United States (1973), via 162 metropolitan listening areas (for which listenership ratings data exist). They found country music listenership inversely related to population size and median household income. Country music is most popular in the Upland South (where et originated), Great Plains, and Texas/Oklahoma regions. There is a general aversion to such music in the New England and Middle Atlantic regions. - (SLD)
