Auteurs :

Description :
Using 1990 US Census data and interviews with Latin American immigrants and real estate agents, AA. examine the patterns of integration and segregation by national origin among Latinos in New York City. They found multi-ethnic communities in areas such as Jackson Heights, Elmhurst, and Corona where affordable housing and public transportation coincided. Usually, they found segregation by nation of origin and race, although two or more nationalities might live together. A standardized entropy index was calculated for each census tract. - (SLD)
