Description :
Geographical Information Systems are increasingly being adopted by retail organisations for use within retail decision making activities. Based on an international survey of retail GIS and locational planning undertaken amongst retail organisations in the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Canada, this report provides insight into the nature and extent of GIS adoption, use and development. Evidence across the three surveys suggests that the retail GIS market is buoyant, and that further growth and diffusion of the technology can be predicted over the next few years, with increasing numbers of retail organisations in the Netherlands, UK and Canada looking to GIS to meet their growing data needs. - (AGD)
