On the influence of boundary Pixels in the unsupervised classification process of remote sensing images

In a remote sensing image, an important number of pixels are the mixed type, with more than one type of objects being simulataneously visible on the corresponding terrain element. Particular case is represented by the boundary pixels, found along the limits of terrain parcels with different land cover, especially vegetal one. - (E. Rusen).
