Description :
This paper describes an interdisciplinary investigation on the effects of catchment morphometry on rainfall-runoff processes using Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and the hydrological model SAKE (runoff simulation model for small catchments). A morphometric parameter including flow length and local slope angle is proposed to reflect the influence of catchment morphometry in terms of Hortonian infiltration excess overland flow. Morphometry is also important in terms of its relation to soil distributions and soil parameters. The AA. conclude that morphometric structures of soil distributions have a high relevance in hydrological modelling.
