Description :
The area around Kleiner Arbersee, part of the highest region of the Bavarian Forest, was investigated to get a better insight of the glaciation of the German Mid-Mountains. After a historical retrospective, a detailed description of the glacial features including several maps is presented. In addition to several microrelief forms, there are at least 9 Würmian morainic deposits in the accumulation area, 8 cirques with 6 in statu nascendi, and a lot of nivation niches in the erosion area. The isobaths map reveals that the Kleiner Arbersee can be classified as a glacial piedmont lake.
