Description :
Through the interpretation of sedimentological, geomorphological, paleoclimatic and tectonic information the geomorphic evolution of the Transdanubian Mountains from the Cretaceous to the Quaternary is presented. Several sedimentary cycles occurred in the range governed by alternating uplift and denudation. Intervals of valley incision and of planation of various type have been identified. At the beginning of the Quaternary pedimentation was the principal geomorphic factor, then replaced by fluvial erosion, periglacial processes and deflation.
