Description :
Inactivated aeolian sediments and forms allow of conclusions on former processes of environmental development in arid zones, though only in comparison with additional morphological, pedological, and palynological findings. This correlation is demonstrated by 2 regional examples from the Syrian drylands with today's annual precipitation totals of 100-200 mm : fossil dunes in eastern central Syria and dunes and yardangs in southern Syria.
