Agriculture is a complex of processes that takes place within a threefold environmental framework. The sustainability of agricultural systems can also be assessed within this framework. Sustainable agriculture has different meanings at various spatial scales. At local and regional scales, it is just ecological farming. At national and global scales, the emphasis is put on the issues of food production and distribution.
